Flying toward Bethlehem to be born

David and I are trying to talk a lot about Baby Jesus, Mary, and Joseph around Bee so she learns about the true significance of Christmas.  However, if you ask her, she'll tell you that a Christmas means a "Miss-miss tree with presents." (And for a child, I suppose that is inevitably the main event.  I know it was for me.)

Our saving grace is that Bee loves  playing with her nativity set.  She lines up all the wooden figures and then carries them off to:

her toy airplane.  Yep, that's Joseph doing aerobatics on the wing.  No need for the donkey this year.

I think I will overlook the possibly sacrilegious connotations and see it as an act of love on Bee's part.  After all, her Christmas storybooks all describe Mary and Joseph traveling very far and feeling very tired, I think she decided to intervene with some newer, faster technology.
