Back in the city:

I am clinging to the last hours of my long weekend/mini vacation like a child unwilling to let go of a favorite toy.  There is nothing so terrible waiting for me in the office tomorrow.  It's just that it was so wonderful to go away on a short trip with David and Bee.  

We drove into the heart of the country and stayed in an ancient fortified town, founded by Germans.  Our hotel was right in the heart of the old city. We ate pizza and had too much gelato and basked in the early morning sunshine and watched Bee chase pigeons.  It was so much better spending time as a family than working in the office. 

I know this for sure-- I work so I can live. I will never live so I can work.
